CAFS Pitching Competition

As part of CAFS's global platform accelerating collaboration, investment, and innovation between two of the world’s fastest-growing fintech ecosystems, CAFS is hosting a PITCHING contest with two streams for: (1) Financial Technology Startups; and (2) Africa-Canada Bridge Builders, interested in pitching at the summit to gain visibility, investor access, and the opportunity to shape the future of innovation across borders.

Selected startups will pitch live to a panel of judges, interested investors, and summit delegates including regulators, and tech executives.  Selected pitchers also receive complimentary registration, dedicated startup booth, media opportunities, mentorship, and exclusive partner prizes.

Key Dates and Eligibility

Submit your application to either the Fintech or Canada–Africa Bridge Builders stream by July 24 for a chance to pitch at CAFS on Aug 7.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis by CAFS judges, so early submissions are encouraged.

Selected companies will be notified on July 25 and invited to pitch live at CAFS.

All selected teams must attend a required pitch preparation session to refine their presentations and align with CAFS guidelines.  To be scheduled.

Shortlisted companies will pitch in stream-specific breakout rooms during CAFS on August 7.

Four finalists (two from each stream) will pitch on the main stage for visibility, recognition, and partner-selected prizes.

IS YOUR COMPANY ELIGIBLE?

High growth companies actively seeking funding are encouraged to apply

Evidence of innovative business model, leadership team with strong backgrounds in their respective fields, clear product-market fit and evidence of traction through demonstrated milestones

Only one application per company (or Group)

STREAM 1 - FINTECH INNOVATORS

Open to Canadian and/or African companies in the fintech sector, either B2B or B2C (examples include BNPL, global payments, blockchain/stablecoins/web3/DeFi, insurtech, digital finance, wealthtech, open banking, infrastructure, lending, etc)

STREAM 2 - CANADA-AFRICA BRIDGE BUILDERS

Open to Canada-Africa Bridge Building companies, either B2B or B2C (examples include firms tackling ecommerce trade, diaspora inclusion, bilateral innovation, capital resourcing etc)
